AI Tools for Solo Founders
The jobs a one-person company cannot hand to anyone else — building the product, putting a site in front of it, making the launch assets, answering customers and defending the calendar.
Where a job has a real fork, both options are here rather than a pick: Replit or Cursor for building, ChatGPT or Claude for drafting.

Questions about this stack
Do I actually need both ChatGPT and Claude?
No — pick one and add the other only when you hit the wall. ChatGPT is the better default: it handles images, runs code over an uploaded spreadsheet, and has the wider integration surface. Reach for Claude when the input is long — a contract, a spec, a codebase you are trying to understand — because that is where the difference stops being theoretical. Paying for both is roughly $40 a month, which is a real line item at this stage.
Replit or Cursor if I can barely code?
Replit. It gives you a database, authentication and a deploy target without you configuring any of them, and its agent is built to take an idea to something running. Cursor assumes you already have a project, an editor and somewhere to put it — the agent is excellent, but it is an agent inside your workflow rather than a replacement for having one.
What does this stack cost a month?
Around $80 to $100 if you pay for everything, and nothing like that in practice. Canva and Zapier have usable free tiers, ThriveDesk and Framer only cost money once you have customers and a site worth hosting, and you should be running one AI assistant rather than two. A realistic first month is one assistant, one build tool and free tiers everywhere else.
Why is there no marketing or SEO tool here?
Because a solo founder pre-revenue does not have a content operation to optimise. Publishing consistently enough for a tool like Surfer SEO or Semrush to pay for itself is a job in its own right — when you get there, the content marketing production line collection is the one to look at.
