Colour

Leaves the backdrop unpainted so the pattern drops onto any surface. Ridgeline and Iso Cube Grid still paint the colour above, because it is what hides the shapes behind them.

How it works

A dot at the centre of the cell and another on its corner. The corner dot is what makes the field read as staggered instead of as a square grid — it lands between the four centres of its neighbours, which is the half-drop arrangement every dot fabric uses. Because it sits on the corner it has to appear in all four at once, so the motif is drawn into the neighbouring cells as well and the tile clips the rest.
